हिंदी अनुवाद
जगतपुर गाँव में प्रत्येक शनिवार कबड्डी का मैच खेला जाता है। गाँव के ग्राम प्रधान माणिक काका के घर के बाहर बहुत भीड़ इकट्ठी हुई है।
मीना, जो शहर में रहती है, अपने चचेरे भाई रवि से मिलने जगतपुर आई है। रवि उसे उस मैदान में ले जाता है जहाँ कबड्डी का मैच होने वाला है।
मीना पूछती है कि यहाँ क्या हो रहा है। रवि बताता है कि जगतपुर और पड़ोसी गाँव जसरा की टीमों के बीच कबड्डी का मैच खेला जाएगा।
रवि बताता है कि कबड्डी उसकी पसंदीदा खेल है। इस खेल में दो टीमें होती हैं और प्रत्येक टीम में सात खिलाड़ी होते हैं। एक टीम रेडर (Raider) और दूसरी टीम डिफेंडर (Defender) की भूमिका निभाती है। दोनों टीमें आपस में मुकाबला करती हैं और टीम भावना बनाए रखती हैं।

हिंदी अनुवाद
मैच शुरू होता है। जगतपुर टीम का एक खिलाड़ी विरोधी टीम की ओर जाता है।
मीना पूछती है कि वह क्या बोल रहा है। रवि बताता है कि वह रेडर है और साँस रोककर लगातार “कबड्डी, कबड्डी, कबड्डी…” बोल रहा है।
रेडर विरोधी टीम के खिलाड़ियों को छूने की कोशिश करता है। यदि वह किसी खिलाड़ी को छूकर बिना पकड़े अपने पाले में लौट आता है, तो उसकी टीम को एक अंक (Point) मिलता है।
यदि वह किसी खिलाड़ी को नहीं छू पाता या डिफेंडर उसे पकड़ लेते हैं, तो उसे कोई अंक नहीं मिलता और वह आउट हो जाता है।
