Part – 1

There were two friends in a forest, a mango tree and a banyan tree.
They talked to each other and enjoyed all day long.
Every night lions and tigers used to sleep under them.
The mango tree used to hate animals.

एक जंगल में दो मित्र रहते थे—एक आम का पेड़ और एक बरगद का पेड़।
वे दोनों आपस में बातें करते थे और पूरे दिन आनंद से रहते थे।
हर रात शेर और बाघ उनके नीचे सोया करते थे।
आम का पेड़ जानवरों से नफरत करता था।

Part – 2

“I will drive them away, they roar loudly, and smell bad,” he said.
The banyan tree said, “Don’t be so rude.”
“We trees and animals need each other.”
“We must live in harmony and help each other.”

हिंदी अनुवाद

आम के पेड़ ने कहा, “मैं इन्हें यहाँ से भगा दूँगा। ये बहुत ज़ोर से दहाड़ते हैं और इनसे बदबू आती है।”
बरगद के पेड़ ने कहा, “इतने रूखे मत बनो।”
“पेड़ों और जानवरों को एक-दूसरे की आवश्यकता होती है।”
“हमें मिल-जुलकर रहना चाहिए और एक-दूसरे की सहायता करनी चाहिए।”

Part – 3

The mango tree was rigid.
He was not ready to listen to him.
That night the mango tree shook its branches.
The animals thought it was a demon and ran away.

आम का पेड़ बहुत जिद्दी था।
वह बरगद की बात सुनने के लिए तैयार नहीं था।
उस रात उसने अपनी शाखाएँ ज़ोर-ज़ोर से हिलाईं।
जानवरों ने सोचा कि वहाँ कोई राक्षस है, इसलिए वे भाग गए।

Part – 4

The mango tree laughed and felt happy.
The next evening two woodcutters came to the forest.
They had axes in their hands.
They saw the big mango tree and became very happy.

आम का पेड़ हँसा और बहुत खुश हुआ।
अगली शाम दो लकड़हारे जंगल में आए।
उनके हाथों में कुल्हाड़ियाँ थीं।
उन्होंने बड़े आम के पेड़ को देखा और बहुत खुश हुए।

Part – 5

The woodcutters began to cut the tree.
The mango tree cried out in pain.
The banyan tree cried loudly for help.
The wild animals rushed towards the banyan tree.

लकड़हारों ने पेड़ काटना शुरू कर दिया।
आम का पेड़ दर्द से चिल्लाने लगा।
बरगद का पेड़ ज़ोर-ज़ोर से मदद के लिए पुकारने लगा।
जंगली जानवर तुरंत बरगद के पेड़ की ओर दौड़ पड़े।

Part – 6

The woodcutters ran away leaving their axes behind.
The mango tree realised his mistake.
The wild animals said, “It’s only through caring and sharing, friendship is born.”
Don’t cut trees! Save trees! Plant trees!

लकड़हारे अपनी कुल्हाड़ियाँ वहीं छोड़कर भाग गए।
आम के पेड़ को अपनी गलती का एहसास हुआ।
जंगली जानवरों ने कहा, “देखभाल और बाँटने की भावना से ही सच्ची मित्रता जन्म लेती है।”
पेड़ मत काटो! पेड़ों को बचाओ! पेड़ लगाओ!
