Once there was a sailor named Gulliver… He soon became friendly with them.
हिंदी अनुवाद
एक समय की बात है। गुलिवर नाम का एक नाविक था। वह अपने साथियों के साथ एक लंबी समुद्री यात्रा पर गया। एक दिन समुद्र में भयंकर तूफान आ गया।
उसका जहाज़ डूब गया, लेकिन गुलिवर तैरकर पास के एक द्वीप पर पहुँच गया। उस द्वीप का नाम लिलीपुट था। वहाँ पहुँचते-पहुँचते वह बहुत थक गया और गहरी नींद में सो गया।
जब वह सो रहा था, तब वहाँ सैकड़ों छोटे-छोटे लोग आए और उन्होंने रस्सियों से उसे बाँध दिया। जब गुलिवर की नींद खुली तो इतने छोटे लोगों को देखकर वह आश्चर्यचकित रह गया। कुछ समय बाद उसकी उनसे मित्रता हो गई।

छोटे लोगों ने गुलिवर की रस्सियाँ खोल दीं और उसे भोजन कराया। उनकी रोटियाँ इतनी छोटी थीं कि गुलिवर एक बार में दस रोटियाँ खा जाता था। दोपहर के भोजन में उसने एक हजार रोटियाँ, सौ फूलगोभी और सौ भेड़ें खाईं।
इसके बाद वे लोग उसे अपने राजा और रानी के पास ले गए। राजा का हाथ इतना छोटा था कि गुलिवर ने उससे हाथ मिलाने के लिए केवल अपनी एक उँगली का उपयोग किया।
लिलीपुट की हर वस्तु बहुत छोटी थी। वहाँ के लोगों के बीच गुलिवर किसी विशालकाय व्यक्ति जैसा दिखाई देता था। लिलीपुट के लोग बहुत दयालु और मददगार थे। उन्होंने गुलिवर के लिए एक नाव भी बनाई।

वह नाव में बैठ गया और अपने घर की ओर चल पड़ा। लिलीपुट के सभी छोटे लोग हाथ हिलाकर उसे “गुड बाय” कह रहे थे। गुलिवर भी उन्हें अलविदा कहकर अपने घर लौट गया।
