5 - I WISH I COULD
There are a lot of things,
I wish I could be.
Like a diver,
Down under the sea.
Or an astronaut roving,
Way up high.
Or a pilot,
Flying planes in the sky.
Or a cricketer,
Hitting every ball for a six.
Or an engineer,
Who everything can fix.
Or a doctor,
Taking care of the sick.
A chef after whose dishes,
Your fingers you will lick.
But here comes Mum,
With samosas for tea.
And at times like this, ‘m glad I’m me.
मैं क्या-क्या बनना चाहता हूँ
बहुत सी चीजें हैं,
जो मैं बनना चाहता हूँ।
जैसे एक गोताखोर,
जो समंदर की गहराई में डूबे।
या एक अंतरिक्ष यात्री,
जो आसमान में बहुत ऊपर घूमे।
या एक पायलट,
जो आकाश में जहाज़ उड़ाए।
या एक क्रिकेटर,
जो हर गेंद को छक्के में बदले।
या एक इंजीनियर,
जो हर चीज़ को ठीक कर दे।
या एक डॉक्टर,
जो बीमारों का ध्यान रखे।
या एक रसोइया,
जिसके बनाए खाने से उंगलियाँ चाटते रह जाएँ।
पर तभी माँ आ जाती हैं,
चाय के साथ समोसे लाती हैं।
और ऐसे समय में,
मुझे अच्छा लगता है कि मैं… बस मैं हूँ। 😊
