THE MAN WHO GAVE INDIA WINGS

Do you know the name of the man who gave India wings?

It was Jehangir Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata. He was popularly known as JRD.
यह व्यक्ति ज़हांगीर रतनजी दादाभाई टाटा थे। उन्हें लोकप्रिय रूप से JRD के नाम से जाना जाता था।

He was born in Paris in July 29, 1904. His father Ratanji Dadabhoy Tata was Parsi and mother Suzanne Briere was French.
उनका जन्म 29 जुलाई, 1904 को पेरिस में हुआ था। उनके पिता रतनजी दादाभाई टाटा पारसी थे और माता सुज़ैन ब्रिएर फ्रेंच थीं।

Tata’s childhood was spent travelling between France and India.
टाटा का बचपन फ्रांस और भारत के बीच यात्रा करते हुए बीता।

Some people said in jest that he got his surname from an ancestor who stood on the shores of Bombay and waved ‘ta-ta’ to the departing ships.

In 1924, at the age of 20, as a French citizen, he was recruited into the French Army.

A year later he was sent to England to prepare for admission in Cambridge University.

JRD at the age of 34 was elected the Chairman of Tata and Sons in 1938, making him the youngest head of the largest industrial group in India.
