One day, Alice was lying under a tree and listening to her sister reading a story. Suddenly, she saw a white rabbit scamper by. The rabbit had pink eyes and was wearing a blue coat. He took out a big watch from his waistcoat pocket and hurried away, saying that he would be too late.
हिंदी अर्थ:
एक दिन ऐलिस एक पेड़ के नीचे लेटी हुई अपनी बहन को कहानी पढ़ते हुए सुन रही थी। अचानक उसने एक सफेद खरगोश को तेजी से जाते हुए देखा। उसकी आँखें गुलाबी थीं और उसने नीला कोट पहन रखा था। उसने अपनी वास्कट की जेब से एक बड़ी घड़ी निकाली और जल्दी से यह कहते हुए चला गया कि उसे बहुत देर हो जाएगी।
Alice thought that there was something very different about the rabbit. It could talk, wore a red waistcoat and carried a watch. Alice became very curious and followed the white rabbit.
हिंदी अर्थ:
ऐलिस ने सोचा कि इस खरगोश में कुछ बहुत अलग था। वह बोल सकता था, लाल वास्कट पहनता था और उसके पास एक घड़ी थी। ऐलिस बहुत उत्सुक हो गई और सफेद खरगोश के पीछे चल पड़ी।
The rabbit started running and Alice followed him. Suddenly, the rabbit jumped into a large rabbit hole. Alice also jumped into the rabbit hole. The rabbit went down and down into the hole.

खरगोश दौड़ने लगा और ऐलिस उसके पीछे चलने लगी। अचानक खरगोश एक बड़े बिल में कूद गया। ऐलिस भी खरगोश के बिल में कूद गई। खरगोश उस बिल में नीचे और नीचे जाता गया।
Alice wondered how far she had fallen. She thought that she might be somewhere near the centre of the earth and wondered whether she would come out on the other side.

ऐलिस सोचने लगी कि वह कितनी दूर नीचे गिर गई है। उसने सोचा कि शायद वह पृथ्वी के केंद्र के पास पहुँच रही है और यह भी सोचा कि कहीं वह पृथ्वी के दूसरी ओर तो नहीं निकल जाएगी।
At last, Alice landed on a pile of dry leaves. She saw the white rabbit again, but it disappeared. Alice then saw a small door about fifteen inches high. There was a glass table with a golden key on it. The key fitted the lock. Alice opened the door and saw a beautiful garden with bright flowers and cool fountains. But the doorway was too small for her. She wished that she could become smaller.

अंत में ऐलिस सूखे पत्तों के ढेर पर गिरी। उसने फिर सफेद खरगोश को देखा, लेकिन वह गायब हो गया। इसके बाद ऐलिस ने लगभग पंद्रह इंच ऊँचा एक छोटा दरवाजा देखा। वहाँ एक काँच की मेज पर सोने की चाबी रखी थी। चाबी ताले में लग गई। ऐलिस ने दरवाजा खोला और एक सुंदर बगीचा देखा, जिसमें चमकीले फूल और ठंडे फव्वारे थे। लेकिन दरवाजा उसके लिए बहुत छोटा था। उसने इच्छा की कि वह छोटी हो जाए।
