8- GULLIVER IN LILLIPUT
Once there was a sailor named Gulliver.
एक बार की बात है, एक नाविक था जिसका नाम गुलिवर था।
He went on a long voyage with his fellow seamen.
वह अपने साथियों के साथ एक लंबे समुद्री यात्रा पर गया।
One day there was a fierce storm at sea.
एक दिन समुद्र में एक भीषण तूफ़ान आया।
His ship sank but Gulliver swam to the nearby island.
उसका जहाज़ डूब गया, लेकिन गुलिवर तैरकर पास के एक द्वीप पर पहुँच गया।
It was called Lilliput.
उस द्वीप का नाम लिलिपुट था।
When he reached there he was very tired. He soon fell asleep.
जब वह वहाँ पहुँचा तो बहुत थक गया था। वह जल्दी ही सो गया।
While he was sleeping, hundreds of very tiny people came there, and tied him with ropes.
जब वह सो रहा था, तब सैकड़ों छोटे-छोटे लोग वहाँ आए और उसे रस्सियों से बाँध दिया।
When he woke up he was surprised to see such tiny people.
जब वह जागा तो इतने छोटे लोगों को देखकर हैरान रह गया।
He soon became friendly with them.
वह जल्दी ही उनके साथ दोस्त बन गया।
They untied the ropes and gave him food.
उन्होंने रस्सियाँ खोल दीं और उसे खाना दिया।
Their loaves of bread were so tiny that he ate ten loaves at a time.
उनकी ब्रेड की गोलियाँ इतनी छोटी थीं कि गुलिवर एक बार में दस खा गया।
For lunch he ate a thousand loaves of bread, a hundred cauliflowers and a hundred sheep.
दोपहर के खाने में उसने हज़ार ब्रेड, सौ फूलगोभी और सौ भेड़ें खा लीं।
The tiny people took him to their king and queen.
छोटे लोगों ने उसे अपने राजा और रानी के पास ले जाया।
The king’s hand was so tiny that Gulliver had to use only one finger to shake hands.
राजा का हाथ इतना छोटा था कि गुलिवर को हाथ मिलाने के लिए केवल एक उंगली का उपयोग करना पड़ा।
Everything was so small that he was like a giant among the tiny people of Lilliput.
हर चीज़ इतनी छोटी थी कि वह लिलिपुट के लोगों के बीच एक दैत्य जैसा लग रहा था।
These tiny people were very kind and helpful. They made a boat for him.
ये छोटे लोग बहुत दयालु और मददगार थे। उन्होंने उसके लिए एक नाव बनाई।
It was time for Gulliver to leave for home. He was sad to leave his friends.
अब गुलिवर के घर लौटने का समय आ गया था। अपने दोस्तों को छोड़ते हुए उसे दुख हुआ।
He got into the boat and sailed off as the tiny people waved him ‘Good Bye’!
वह नाव में बैठा और रवाना हो गया, और छोटे-छोटे लोगों ने उसे हाथ हिलाकर ‘अलविदा’ कहा।
