Karishma is a cute little village girl.
करिश्मा एक प्यारी सी गाँव की लड़की है।

She lives with her grandparents in a small village named Dholakpur.
वह अपने दादा-दादी के साथ ढोलकपुर नामक छोटे से गाँव में रहती है।

She loves her granny very much.
वह अपनी दादी से बहुत प्यार करती है।

Once, her loving granny takes her to the nearby city, Ghazipur, to watch a magic show.
एक बार, उसकी प्यारी दादी उसे पास के शहर गाज़ीपुर में जादू का शो दिखाने ले जाती हैं।

(They enter the hall.)

(वे हॉल में प्रवेश करते हैं।)

Karishma: Wow, how colourful the hall is!
वाह! यह हॉल कितना रंगीन है!

Granny: Yes, the hall is very big and decorated with bright colours.
हाँ, यह हॉल बहुत बड़ा है और चमकीले रंगों से सजाया गया है।

Karishma: I’m excited to see the magic.
मैं जादू देखने के लिए बहुत उत्साहित हूँ।

Granny: Me too.
मैं भी।

Karishma: Oh my god! They have switched off the lights. I cannot see. It’s dark all around.
हे भगवान! उन्होंने लाइट बंद कर दी है। मैं कुछ नहीं देख सकती। चारों ओर अंधेरा है।

Granny: Be quiet and look at the stage. There’s a dim light.
शांत रहो और मंच की तरफ देखो। वहाँ हल्की रौशनी है।

(The show begins with Ganesh Vandana)
(शो की शुरुआत गणेश वंदना से होती है।)

Karishma: Granny look, how beautifully they are dressed up!
दादी देखो, इन्होंने कितने सुंदर कपड़े पहने हैं!

Granny: Yes dear.
हाँ बेटा।

Karishma: Who is that fat man in the middle?
वो बीच वाला मोटा आदमी कौन है?

Granny: (Pointing at the man) That man who is wearing a blue dress and has a magic stick in his hand.
(उस आदमी की ओर इशारा करते हुए) वो जो नीला कपड़ा पहने है और जिसके हाथ में जादू की छड़ी है।

Karishma: Yes granny.
हाँ दादी।

Granny: He is a magician. He does magic tricks.
वह एक जादूगर है। वह जादू के करतब दिखाता है।

(The magician shows an empty magic box to the audience and spells something. Red, pink, green, yellow, orange coloured satin ribbons, and petals of different flowers start coming out of it.)
(जादूगर दर्शकों को एक खाली जादुई डिब्बा दिखाता है और कुछ मंत्र बोलता है। उसमें से लाल, गुलाबी, हरे, पीले, नारंगी रंग की रिबन और तरह-तरह के फूलों की पंखुड़ियाँ निकलने लगती हैं।)

Karishma: How wonderful it is!
यह कितना अद्भुत है!

Granny: Yes, it is.
हाँ, बिल्कुल।

(The magician calls Karishma to the stage and takes a ten rupee coin from her. He closes his hand and chants something. The coin disappears.)
(जादूगर करिश्मा को मंच पर बुलाता है और उससे दस रुपये का सिक्का लेता है। वह अपनी मुट्ठी बंद करता है और कुछ मंत्र पढ़ता है। सिक्का गायब हो जाता है।)

Karishma: Where is my coin?
मेरा सिक्का कहाँ है?

Magician: (laughing) Which coin?
(हँसते हुए) कौन सा सिक्का?

Karishma: The one which I gave you.
वही, जो मैंने आपको दिया था।

Magician: No, you have not given me any coin. Check it in your pocket.
नहीं, तुमने मुझे कोई सिक्का नहीं दिया। अपनी जेब में देखो।

(To her surprise, she finds the coin in her pocket. Everybody claps.)
(अचंभे से, वह देखती है कि सिक्का उसकी जेब में है। सभी तालियाँ बजाते हैं।)

(One after the other, the magician showed many tricks. The people were spellbound.)
(एक के बाद एक, जादूगर ने कई करतब दिखाए। लोग मंत्रमुग्ध हो गए।)

Karishma: Granny, how nicely he does it!
दादी, वह कितनी अच्छी तरह से करतब दिखाता है!

Granny: Yes, that is why he is a magician.
हाँ, इसलिए तो वह जादूगर है।
