Rachel’s uncle and aunt lived in Mysore… We should not pluck flowers.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रैचेल के चाचा और चाची मैसूर में रहते थे। रैचेल अपने माता-पिता के साथ छुट्टियाँ बिताने उनके घर गई थी। सभी लोग वृंदावन गार्डन घूमने के लिए बहुत उत्साहित थे।
रास्ते में चाची ने बताया कि हर वर्ष लगभग 20 लाख पर्यटक वृंदावन गार्डन देखने आते हैं।
गार्डन में प्रवेश करते ही रैचेल ने सुंदर फूलों और फव्वारों को देखकर कहा, “वाह! मैं अपने लिए फूलों का एक गुलदस्ता बनाऊँगी।”
जैसे ही वह फूल तोड़ने लगी, उसकी चाची ने उसे रोकते हुए कहा,
“हमें फूल नहीं तोड़ने चाहिए।”

गार्डन घूमने के बाद सभी लोग नाश्ता करने बैठे। चाची अपने साथ पॉपकॉर्न, समोसे, सैंडविच और फल लाई थीं।
नाश्ता खत्म करने के बाद रैचेल ने अपनी प्लेट और गिलास बेंच के नीचे फेंक दिए।
चाची ने प्यार से पूछा,
“क्या तुम अपने घर में भी कूड़ा ऐसे ही फेंकती हो?”
उन्होंने समझाया कि सड़क, पार्क, स्कूल, अस्पताल और अन्य सार्वजनिक स्थानों को साफ़ रखना हम सभी का कर्तव्य है। हमें पूरे देश को अपने घर की तरह साफ़ रखना चाहिए।
रैचेल को अपनी गलती का एहसास हुआ। उसने तुरंत कूड़ा उठाकर कूड़ेदान में डाल दिया।

वापस लौटते समय उन्होंने देखा कि एक बूढ़ा व्यक्ति ठोकर खाकर गिर गया।
रैचेल की चाची तुरंत दौड़कर उसकी सहायता करने लगीं, जबकि बाकी लोग केवल सोचते रह गए कि क्या किया जाए।
बूढ़े व्यक्ति ने उनकी सहायता के लिए धन्यवाद दिया।
रास्ते में रैचेल ने पूछा,
“क्या आप उस बूढ़े व्यक्ति को जानती थीं?”
चाची ने उत्तर दिया,
“नहीं, लेकिन वह परेशानी में था। हमें हमेशा ज़रूरतमंद लोगों की मदद करनी चाहिए। जैसे हम अपने परिवार का ध्यान रखते हैं, वैसे ही हमें समाज के लोगों का भी ध्यान रखना चाहिए। तभी हम अच्छे और जिम्मेदार नागरिक बन सकते हैं।”
