12- KABIR
Kabir was a great poet and saint who lived in India hundreds of years ago.
कबीर एक महान कवि और संत थे, जो सैकड़ों साल पहले भारत में रहते थे।
He preached people to love each other.
उन्होंने लोगों को एक-दूसरे से प्रेम करने का उपदेश दिया।
He went from place to place singing songs in praise of God.
वे जगह-जगह जाकर भगवान की स्तुति में गीत गाते थे।
Years passed by and Kabir grew older.
साल बीतते गए और कबीर वृद्ध हो गए।
By then he had thousands of followers.
तब तक उनके हज़ारों अनुयायी हो गए थे।
Kabir’s songs and poems tell us that God is everywhere.
कबीर के भजन और कविताएँ हमें बताती हैं कि भगवान हर जगह हैं।
His writings show that he was a true saint.
उनकी रचनाएँ यह दर्शाती हैं कि वे सच्चे संत थे।
A few of his couplets are given here which show that he was a great thinker and a social reformer too.
यहाँ उनकी कुछ दोहें दी गई हैं जो दिखाती हैं कि वे एक महान चिंतक और सामाजिक सुधारक भी थे।
Aisi bani boliye, man ka aapa khoye.
ऐसी वाणी बोलिए, मन का आपा खोए।
Auran ko sital kare, apahu sital hoye.
औरन को शीतल करे, आपहुं शीतल होए।
Kabira khada bazar mein, sabki mange khair.
कबीर खड़ा बाज़ार में, सबकी मांगे ख़ैर।
Na kahu se dosti, na kahu se bair.
ना काहू से दोस्ती, ना काहू से बैर।
Kabir taught everyone to love God.
कबीर ने सबको भगवान से प्रेम करना सिखाया।
He always said, “Kabir is the child of Allah and Ram.”
वे हमेशा कहते थे, “कबीर अल्लाह और राम का बेटा है।”
But people did not like this.
लेकिन लोगों को यह पसंद नहीं आया।
They took him to the Emperor.
वे उन्हें बादशाह के पास ले गए।
The Emperor heard people’s complaint and ordered his soldiers, “Throw this man into the river.”
बादशाह ने लोगों की शिकायत सुनी और अपने सैनिकों को आदेश दिया, “इस आदमी को नदी में फेंक दो।”
The soldiers threw Kabir into the river. But he did not drown.
सैनिकों ने कबीर को नदी में फेंक दिया, लेकिन वे डूबे नहीं।
The next time they put him in a hut and set fire to it.
अगली बार उन्होंने उन्हें एक झोपड़ी में डालकर आग लगा दी।
The hut burnt down but Kabir was safe.
झोपड़ी जल गई, लेकिन कबीर सुरक्षित थे।
Finally, they threw him in front of a mad elephant.
आखिरकार उन्होंने उन्हें एक पागल हाथी के सामने डाल दिया।
Instead of killing Kabir, the elephant ran away without harming him.
कबीर को मारने के बजाय, हाथी बिना नुकसान पहुंचाए भाग गया।
On being defeated several times, the emperor set Kabir free.
कई बार असफल होने पर, बादशाह ने कबीर को मुक्त कर दिया।
And when Kabir died his natural death, his followers quarrelled among themselves.
और जब कबीर की प्राकृतिक मृत्यु हुई, तो उनके अनुयायी आपस में झगड़ पड़े।
The Muslims wanted to bury his body.
मुसलमान उनके शरीर को दफनाना चाहते थे।
The Hindus wanted to burn his body.
हिंदू उनके शरीर को जलाना चाहते थे।
Suddenly, the Hindus and the Muslims heard a voice from the sky.
अचानक, हिंदुओं और मुसलमानों ने आकाश से एक आवाज सुनी।
It was Kabir’s voice. “Take the sheet off my body.”
वह कबीर की आवाज थी – “मेरे शरीर से चादर हटा दो।”
When they removed the sheet, they did not find the body.
जब उन्होंने चादर हटाई, तो उन्हें शरीर नहीं मिला।
In its place they found only some flowers.
उसकी जगह उन्हें केवल कुछ फूल मिले।
So the Muslims took one half of the flowers, while the Hindus took the other half.
इसलिए मुसलमानों ने आधे फूल ले लिए और हिंदुओं ने बाकी आधे फूल ले लिए।
